Anotation:

This theoretical and practical course introduces students to professional anatomical terminology while providing them with basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

Study targets:

Basic knowledge of the morphology and function of the human body. Develop active knowledge of professional terminology.

Content:

Providing a basic, comprehensive view of human anatomy and physiology adapted to the real needs of non-medical health care professionals.

Course outlines:

1. Introduction to anatomy + osteology + arthrology
2. Myology I: Introduction to myology + muscles of the limbs, fascia
3. Myology II: muscles of the trunk, neck and head, fascia
4. Circulatory system and heart
5. Digestive system
6. Respiratory system and mediastinum
7. Excretory system and reproductive system
8. Peripheral Nervous System
9. Introduction to CNS, Spinal Cord
10. Brainstem and cerebellum
11. Diencephalon and basal ganglia
12. Telencephalon, limbic system and endocrine glands
13. Senses and skin

Exercises outline:

1. Basic terminology, directions
2. Bones and joints, description and orientation on X-ray, demonstration of joint replacements
3. Muscles of the whole body, description and orientation on MRI
4. Circulatory system and heart, description on X-ray, MRI views, listening to the heart
5. Digestive system, MRI views
6. Respiratory system, excretory system and reproductive system, MRI views, ultrasound
7. Peripheral nervous system, patellar reflex
8. Spinal cord, spinal cord coverings and vascular supply, MRI
9. Brainstem and cerebellum
10. Diencephalon and basal ganglia
11. Telencephalon and limbic system, whole brain, integuments and vascular supply, MRI and CT
12. Senses and skin
13. Chest and abdominal muscles

Requirements:

Basic knowledge of the morphology and function of the human body. Knowledge of professional terminology is also required. Attendence at least 80% of the practical exercises. Passing the test with at least 50% is required.
