Anotation:

The objective of the subject is to master and improve skills necessary for successful presentation as well as enhancing the communicative ability of the prospective engineers and bachelors. This subject will enable the students to develop both spoken and written presentations, non verbal communication and remove the psychological barriers for public speaking so that the students can create a good image. The course "Retorika" provides an introduction to this subject.

Content:

This subject will enable the students to develop both spoken and written presentations, non verbal communication and remove the psychological barriers for public speaking so that the students can create a good image

Course outlines:

1. Introduction, communication in general, breathing techniques, articulation, standard pronunciation in Czech
2. word and sentence accoustic means, intonation, stress. Stylistics - written and spoken form
3. Basics of non verbal communication - gestures, mimicking, body language, appearance. Monologues and dialogues.
4. Monologue. Structure of presentations in general, types of speeches, target groups, pronunciation, vocabulary.
5. Off hand speech, speaking in unfavourable conditions, psychological techniques, feedback.
6. Visual aids, logical structure in connection with the structure of presentation, layout.
7. Using visuals.
8. Monologue, practise.
9. Dialogue. Types of dialogues, active and passive communication roles.
10. Argumentation, induction, deduction, communication techniques.
11. Dialogues, practise.
12. Analysis and correction of errors.
13. Model presentation for credits and discission - part 1
14. Model presentation - part 2
