ČEPS Summer School Opens the Door to the World of Modern Energy for Students
Students of technical disciplines have a unique opportunity to gain an insight into the inner workings of the Czech transmission system through the ČEPS Summer School. The programme is primarily intended for students of electrical engineering and energy-related fields who wish to gain practical insight into the operation of modern energy systems, meet industry professionals, and expand their knowledge of the latest technologies used in electricity transmission.
“California is like a time machine.” A CTU FEE Ph.D. student will research the future of electromobility at Stanford thanks to the Fulbright Scholarship
A Ph.D. student Ondřej Štogl from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE) has received a Fulbright Scholarship and will leave for Stanford University in the fall. In his research at FEE and Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC), he focuses on Vehicle-to-Grid technology, which makes it possible to use electric vehicle batteries not only for driving, but also to stabilize the electricity grid. California is the perfect place for this research. Thanks to its high share of photovoltaics, it is already dealing with problems that Europe may face in the future.
CTU FEE joined the Light for AIDS initiative. The coloured lines on the faculty building lit up red.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague joined the international Light for AIDS initiative on Sunday, 17 May 2026, commemorating the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Day. The faculty expressed its symbolic support for people living with HIV and honoured the victims of AIDS by illuminating the coloured lines located on the side wall of the faculty building at Technická Street 2 in Prague’s Dejvice district in red.
Prof. Vladimír Blažek Receives the Trnka Medal from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU awarded the Trnka Medal to Prof. Dr.-Ing. Vladimír Blažek, Dr. h. c., professor emeritus at RWTH Aachen University and a long-standing key collaborator of the faculty in the fields of biomedical engineering and international cooperation. He received the award during the POSTER 2026 student research conference, where the medal was presented to him by the Dean of the FEE CTU, Prof. Petr Páta.
She sees the results of her work on the roads. FEE CTU graduate Šárka Baštová develops cameras for driver-assistance systems at Škoda Auto
How does one go from FEE CTU straight to the technologies that control cars on the roads today? Šárka Baštová (who studied at FEE under her maiden name, Květoňová) started at Škoda Auto as an intern and gradually worked her way up to the position of expert in the development and deployment of cameras for driver assistance systems. In this interview, she describes what she enjoys about her work, what her studies at the faculty gave her—and what advice she would give to students today.
The Czech AI Factory is launching. FEE and CIIRC at the Czech Technical University will help build a world-class Czech AI infrastructure
On May 12, 2026, the Czech AI Factory (CZAI) project was officially launched in Ostrava. The project will connect supercomputing capabilities, expert know-how, and practical applications of artificial intelligence for businesses, public administration, and research organizations. The Czech Technical University in Prague is also significantly involved in the project, which has a budget of nearly one billion crowns—primarily the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics, and Cybernetics, which will develop AI services for industry, cybersecurity, public administration, and other application areas.
The EFORCE Prague Formula Team Unveiled a New Autonomous Electric Formula Car. Compared to Last Year’s Model, It Is Lighter and More Durable
The brand-new autonomous electric formula car CTU.26, developed by the student team EFORCE Prague Formula, is once again significantly lighter, faster, and structurally more robust. The team presented the car for the upcoming season on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Planetarium Prague. EFORCE Prague Formula, made up primarily of students from the Czech Technical University’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, is the leading student formula team in the Czech Republic. Its cars regularly score points on European racing circuits. The team, which currently has around one hundred members, is also tackling a major engineering challenge.
