How to Measure the Intelligence of Nature-Inspired Robots? Study with First Author from CTU FEE Proposes a New Evaluation Framework

How can we compare robots that are expected to move flexibly, safely, and energy-efficiently in dynamic environments? A new international study titled A Benchmarking Framework for Embodied Neuromorphic Agents, published in the prestigious journal Nature Machine Intelligence, offers an answer.

Invitation to Dr. Ondřej Lipčák’s Habilitation Lecture

On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., Ing. Ondřej Lipčák, Ph.D., will deliver his habilitation lecture on the topic “Challenges in the Control of Electric Drives and Power Converters for Demanding Applications.” The lecture will be held in person before the Scientific Council in room T2:D3-209, but it will also be available to watch on YouTube.

Career Days 2026: Six thousand students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at CTU will meet with ninety employers

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague are organizing their traditional Career Days, which will offer students a unique opportunity to meet potential employers and gain valuable contacts for their future careers. The event will take place on March 31 and April 1, 2026, on the campuses of both faculties in Dejvice, with approximately 3,500 students from the CTU Faculty of Electrical Engineering and 2,500 students from the CTU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering participating.

Researchers from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU contributed to a study in Nature Communications: Children’s brains adapt to a missing limb from an early age

An international team of scientists has published a study in the prestigious journal Nature Communications showing that the brains of children born with an upper limb difference undergo significant reorganisation from an early age. Scientists from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague (FEE CTU) also participated in the research, developing a computational model explaining the mechanism behind these changes.

Data from space as a business: FEE graduate Michal Reinštein develops AI that analyzes satellite data

Today, satellites take a huge number of images of Earth every day. Startup SpaceKnow uses artificial intelligence and computer vision methods to turn them into practical information for companies, investors, and government institutions—for example, about industrial activity, infrastructure changes, and the movement of goods. One of the people behind the development of these technologies is Ing. Michal Reinštein, Ph.D., a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague, who works as Chief Scientist at the company. In this interview, he describes his journey from studying air traffic control to robotics to satellite data analysis and explains how academic research is now linked to technology startups.

Dean's Award for Outstanding Dissertation Thesis

The Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU in Prague awarded the Dean's Prize for outstanding dissertation work to the following doctoral graduates:

CTU Faculty of Electrical Engineering Graduates Succeed in the Werner von Siemens Awards. Awards Recognize Research on Safe Human–Robot Collaboration

Two awards in this year’s Werner von Siemens Awards 2025 were received by graduates of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague (FEE CTU). In the category Best Doctoral Thesis in Industry 4.0, the award was presented to Ing. Jakub Rozlivek, Ph.D., while the award for Best Master’s Thesis in this field was granted to Ing. Elizaveta Isianova. Both works were carried out at FEE CTU and the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics at CTU (CIIRC CTU) under the supervision of experts in robotics and artificial intelligence and focus on enabling robots to collaborate with humans in a safer and more intelligent way.

FEE CTU participates in three strategic projects supported by TA CR

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) is significantly involved in three projects that were successful in the 13th public competition of the SIGMA program (Sub-goal 5) of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. As part of these projects, research teams from FEE CTU will develop artificial intelligence applications, digital transport models, and advanced technologies for the semiconductor industry.

Experts from several departments of the faculty are involved in the projects, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, telecommunications technologies, and semiconductor physics.

What is like to be a women or a girl at FEE CTU? Share your experiences with the dean and ombudswoman

One in six students at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague is a women/girl. What is it like for women and girls to study in a predominantly male environment? And what would they need to make the atmosphere more welcoming for them? Come to a meeting with Dean Prof. Petr Páta and Ombudswoman Dr. Zuzana Labudová on April 16.
