What are cookies, pixels and what do we need them for?
Similar to other websites, we also use cookies, pixels and other technologies. In the following text, we will describe how they work and what we need them for.
Cookies are small pieces of data that are stored on your browser or your mobile device while browsing the web.
Pixels are small images or "pieces of code" that exist on a website or in an e-mail. Pixels collect information about your browser or mobile devices and some of them may even store cookies.
Individual cookies have different storage times on your device. Some cookies will be deleted from your device after you close the window (session cookie), others will remain stored on your device even after you finish viewing our website (permanent cookie).
Why do we use cookies?
Cookies allow us to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time so that you do not have to enter them repeatedly each time you return to the website or go from one website to the next.
Cookies help us understand what interests you on our website, whether it is clear enough for you and you can find what you are looking for on it. So we use them to improve the user experience. Cookies can also record other information such as the number of visitors to our website or which sections of our website you visit most often. In addition to improving the web interface, they are also used to display promoted content that is relevant to you based on your interests and needs. For example, if you are interested in a bachelor's program, we will not recommend the possibilities of doctoral studies to you through promotional content. Communication through promoted content (such as videos from laboratories) is also important to us because the algorithms of social networks somewhat disadvantage unpaid contributions. Therefore, if we want to effectively inform you about the possibilities of studying at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University, we must find our way to you, while ideally not spamming you with irrelevant content.

- Functional and Technical Cookies - These cookies ensure that our website functions properly, such as setting the preferred language on the website. Without these cookies, our website would not work properly. Their use is inevitable and the period of time they are stored is usually short.
