The eForce FEE Formula Student Team of Faculty of Electrical Engineering Succeeded in Cambridge
The eForce team at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, which works on development and design of electric formula racing cars and autonomous electric formula racing cars, presented at the University of Cambridge in the UK from 16 to 19 March 2022. Representatives of the team gave a series of nine lectures and workshops on specific topics related to formula design for the local Full Blue Racing student team at the Department of Engineering (DoE).
Twelve students from the eForce student team participated in the thematic workshops and shared practical skills in the design and development of electric racing cars at the Department of Engineering of the University of Cambridge, which currently holds third place in the QS Rankings. The lectures and workshops included an introductory presentation of the eForce team, introducing the background to the activities of the Eforce teams, team management at CTU in Prague, and electric and autonomous mobility. Other topics covered were aerodynamics and chassis design, battery and electronics design, and the superstructure for dealing with autonomous systems.
Students of the local Full Blue Racing team (FBR) appreciated the excellent know-how, which will help them in developing their own electric racing car. CTU's eForce team also had the opportunity to visit and look round the FBR facilities and workshops that serve them all year round, and also the premises and facilities for other fields of engineering studies at the Department of Engineering. On 19 March, the eForce team made a presentation and addressed a broader audience at the Community Open Day, on which the University of Cambridge addresses the local community. The two student teams presented their racing experience on an electric racing car simulator.
This visit of the eForce team, lasting several days, has contributed to deeper cooperation between CTU in Prague and the prestigious University of Cambridge in the field of science and research.
The eForce team at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague is a team that participates in the international Formula Student competition under the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. The project involves students from many fields of study, mainly from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering or the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at CTU. The structure of the team comprises an electrical engineering group, a mechanical group, and a driverless car group, which are supported of the IT group, the project group and the faculty coordinators.
