CTU has nine new graduates of the inter-university program prg.ai Minor - News service - Czech technical university in Prague
On Tuesday, 5 October, a ceremony was held at the Old Town Hall to present certificates to new graduates of the prg.ai Minor programme. The aim of the inter-university programme is to educate a new generation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) professionals. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University are participating in the programme. The event was attended not only by representatives of the prg.ai association and the individual faculties, but also by the Mayor of Prague Zdeněk Hřib and Prague City Councillor Vít Šimral.
Over 240 students have applied to prg.ai Minor in the three years of its existence, of which 96 have been selected for study. The first two graduates of the program received certificates last academic year; this year, 13 students from all faculties received certificates.
From the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Prague were Martin Koryt'ák, Tomáš Omasta, Jan Neumann, Martin Krutský, Jakub Brož, Ekaterina Yaroslavtseva, Jan Čuhel and Matouš Melecký. Petr Kasalický graduated from the Faculty of Information Technology.
“The prg.ai Minor was a very enriching experience for me. I had the opportunity to try out courses from four different faculties, from building robots at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU to social issues of artificial intelligence at FSV UK,” said program graduate Ekaterina Yaroslavtseva from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the ceremony.
Students are selected for the programme once a year. The deadline for applications is announced in early March, but interested students can already register by emailing minor@prg.ai or via the prg.ai/minor website, where they can find further details about the programme. Anyone who is a student in one of the participating faculties can apply. A committee made up of representatives from the participating faculties will then assess the students' grades, technical knowledge and motivation.
