Visegrad Scholarship Program

Visegrad Scholarship Program is one of the most popular program of the International Visegrad Fund (IVF). Visegrad scholarships support Master and post-Master (Ph.D.) students and researchers in all disciplines for up to four semesters at more than 190 higher education institutions across Central and Eastern Europe including the Faculty of Electrical Engineering CTU in Prague (FEE CTU). This program is avilable for students who are citizens of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo*, Moldova, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Serbia and Ukraine. The amount of the support is €3,000 per semester that is much enough to cover all studying and living expenses in Prague.

 

 

Post-Master (Ph.D.) students can take part in any project currently carrying out at our Faculty as well as offer his/her own topic (the scientifical interests of the selected supervisor can be checked in the V3S Database of Scientifical Results). Master students can attend courses, carry out the research project, combine courses and research project or write the diploma thesis. The list of all available Technical courses in English for Master students is available on our website (optional for post-Master (Ph.D.) students and researchers).

Scholars can also attend the Czech language course for free at our Department of Languages.

Requirements and conditions from IVF

  • the country of your citizenship, permanent residence and home university must be different from the country of the host institution; moreover, the applicant’s previous level of university studies must be completed in a country other than where he/she applies for the scholarship,
  • the distance between the applicant’s current employer/university or the permanent residence and the host university/institute must be above 150 km,
  • study period/length of support is 1–4 semesters for full-time Master’s level studies, and for Bachelor studies, or 1–2 semesters for post-Master’s full-time studies/research,
  • the amount of the support is €3,000/semester for scholar.

Requirements from FEE CTU

  • applicant should be a full-time student of the Master’s or Post-Master’s degree program at the Home University,
  • applicant can not apply for any additional scholarship or support from FEE CTU,
  • applicant should have a good proficiency in English: certificates such as TOEFL iBT 70 / IELTS 6 / TOEIC 800 or any other similar certificates.

How to apply for hosting at FEE CTU

Your application must be submitted online by March 31, 12.00 (noon). Please, use our Application form for student mobility programme at FEE CTU in Prague. In case you are applying for a reseach project or planning to write your diploma thesis at FEE CTU, please, tell us if you have already find/contacted a prospective supervisor (in this case, please, fill in the name in the relefant part of the Application form). We need it to help you with an approval of the detailed working plan for your scholarship application.

If you like to provide us any additional document such as CV, List of scientific publication, Bachelor project, Motivation letter, you can send it replying to the e-mail that you will receive from us after your application will be submitted.

In some cases, our colleagues may arrange with you a video interview.

How to apply for a Visegrad scholarship

Your application must be submitted online via My Visegrad by April 15, 12.00 (noon) and must include the following enclosures in English or accompanied by certified translation:

Master’s scholarship:

  • scanned valid ID document,
  • scanned transcript or records for the last two completed semesters or a diploma supplement,
  • scanned letter of acceptance from the host university.

Post-Master’s (Ph.D.) scholarship:

  • scanned valid ID document,
  • scanned letter of acceptance with detailed working plan.
