Anotation:

The course introduces the principles of electroacoustic and electromechanical transducers from the perspective of physicas background and technological solutions. It also focuses on methods of analysis of transducers and electroacoustic systems. The main topics are acoustic transmitters (speakers, actuators) and acoustic receivers (microphones, sensors) and the principles of electroacoustic conversion used in them, as well as related electrical and acoustic systems (crossovers, baffles, waveguides) and, last but not least, measurement and calibration.

Study targets:

The course is aimed at fundamental knowledge in electroacoustics.

1. Electromechanical and electroacoustic analogy
2. Modeling of vibrating systems with distributed parameters (membranes)
3. Acoustic transmitters
4. Electromechanical transducers with a magnetic field
5. Electroacoustic transducers with an electric field
6. Acoustic receivers (microphones, measuring microphones, sensors)
7. Loudspeakers, baffles, crossovers
8. Electroacoustic headphones
9. Numerical methods for optimizing electroacoustic transducers
10. Electroacoustic measurements - calibration
11. Acoustic and mechanical waveguides
12. MEMS transducers and their communication formats
13. Nonlinearities of electroacoustic transducers and their measurements
14. Lecture by a guest professor
