Teaching Support for PhD Students

Many PhD students at our faculty contribute to teaching alongside their research. We recognize that teaching can be both a rewarding and challenging experience—especially at the beginning. As a faculty, we are determined to help with the professional development of our PhD candidates as educators and to promote high-quality teaching.

This page is a first step in providing you with the resources that help you navigate your teaching responsibilities and develop your skills. Here, you’ll find useful materials on university teaching, links to practical guides, and information about upcoming workshops and training opportunities.

Whether you're preparing your first seminar or looking to enhance your existing practice, we hope you find these resources helpful. Teaching is a skill that grows with experience and support—and we are here to support you.

EuroTeQ Education Hub

Through our membership in the EuroTeQ alliance, our university has access to the Education Hub—an initiative that brings together expertise from leading technical universities to support high-quality, inclusive, and future-focused education. The Hub serves as a platform for collaboration, professional development, and innovation in teaching and learning. It connects educators across institutions, fosters the exchange of best practices, and encourages the co-creation of educational tools and approaches that respond to the evolving needs of students and society.

The Teachers' Club

The Teachers’ Club at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CTU in Prague, is an open and informal platform for all teaching staff—ranging from PhD students to senior lecturers—who are passionate about improving their teaching. The club offers regular workshops focused on practical aspects of university instruction, from enhancing student engagement and giving effective feedback to supervising theses and integrating AI tools into the classroom. It’s a space to share experiences, exchange ideas, and grow as educators in a supportive community. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refresh your approach, the Teachers’ Club invites you to join the conversation and help shape the future of teaching at our faculty.
